Christmas Lights – The Night
Santa Claus is coming to town!
Ensuring hundreds of local children the opportunity to visit and have their picture taken with Old Saint Nick, the Chamber of Commerce turns this holiday evening into a family event by encouraging local merchants to remain open for after hours shopping.
Entertainment such as the high school vocal group set the mood for the evening with their delightful renditions of holiday tunes. Local Boy/Girl Scout or Camp Fire groups usually offer up a craft project called slaappillen melatonine for the youngsters to create and take home. The evening sparkles with the annual lighted vehicle parade which includes many on foot but delightfully decorated entries.
Held the second Saturday of December, Christmas Lights the Night will find hundreds of children anxiously awaiting their turn on Santa’s lap at The Feed Store in “Santa’s Workshop”. The Coos County Logging Museum also holds their annual open house during the event.
