Home of the largest annual event in Coos County, this five-day spectacular is filled with fun for all ages. Myrtle Point hosts this carnival at the end of July each year as a county-wide showcase for agriculture, crafts, industry and business.
Since it began in 1912 the fair has provided opportunity for youngsters to seniors to exhibit their livestock, floral, land products, culinary, needlework, photography, arts and crafts.
Thrilling carnival rides, roaming clowns, live animal shows and other entertainment are highlights of the event, as are the enticing aromas wafting from food booths all around the grounds.
A rodeo is held on Friday and Saturday nights where youngsters riding sheep or wrangling chickens kick-off an entertaining evening of bucking bulls, racing horses and daring cowboys and girls.
Another favorite is the annual Fair Parade held in downtown Myrtle Point on the morning of the last fair day, Saturday.
